This is a fun place to be if: you are curious about Magnolia history; are an aspiring writer living or working on Magnolia now or in the past; or, have Magnolia stories, photos, or memorabilia to share. This website is a project of the Magnolia Historical Society a 501c3 non-profit; and, it’s for you! We are building this online, ongoing collection of Magnolia history written by Magnolians, MAGNOLIA: MORE Memories & Milestones, the fourth in a series of books, as part of our ongoing mission for the Magnolia neighborhood.
Magnolia Historical Society (MHS) Mission:
Initiate interest in Magnolia history–gather and protect it for future generations.
Inspire the Magnolia community to help us gather acquisitions for our photo and document archives at UW Special Collections.
Invest in community historical research and writing of Magnolia history that encourages historic projects and events.
Encourage a more accurate “sense of place” through our work preserving the stories and images of Magnolia.
But, don't stop here…
Go to the SUBMISSIONS tab and contact us to write up a new memory or milestone. Let us know about any Magnolia history-related items that might be added to the UW Special Collections Library. Or, let us in on some facet of Magnolia's neighborhood history that you would like to write or that you would suggest to us as a good topic.
Learn more about the Society history and our award-winning/nominated books at the ABOUT tab.
